Terms of use
These terms cover your use of Board Engine during the private alpha. By signing in, you agree to them. They're written to be read; if anything is unclear, ask us at hello@boardengine.app.
The alpha
- Board Engine is early software. Features will change, some will break, and we may reset or migrate things as we go. We'll warn you before anything that touches your data.
- The alpha is free and invite-only. We may end it, or move to paid plans, with reasonable notice.
- Keep your own copies of anything you can't afford to lose. Exports are there for that.
Your account
- Use your own email address, and keep access to it: sign-in links go there.
- You're responsible for what happens under your account, including who you invite and which review links you share.
- Tell us straight away if you think someone else has got into your account.
Your work is yours
You (or your client) own everything you put into Board Engine. You give us permission to store, process and display it only as needed to run the service for you and the people you share it with, including sending it to the AI providers described on the AI use page when you run those features. We claim no other rights in it.
Only upload material you have the right to use. If your client's contract limits where their material can be stored or processed, check that this service fits before you upload.
Sharing
Studios, invitations and review links control who sees your work. Review links work for anyone who holds them until you revoke them or they expire, so treat them like a key.
Fair use
- Don't use Board Engine to break the law or infringe anyone's rights.
- Don't try to get into studios, projects or data that aren't yours, or test our security without asking first.
- Don't overload the service, scrape it, or resell it.
We may suspend access that puts the service or other people's work at risk, and we'll tell you why.
No warranty, limited liability
The alpha is provided as is. We work hard to keep your work safe and available, but we can't promise it will always be error-free or online. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect losses, such as a missed shoot day or lost profits, arising from your use of the alpha.
Leaving
You can stop using Board Engine at any time and ask us to delete your account from Settings → Account. See the privacy notes for what that removes and how long it takes.
Changes
We'll update these terms as the product grows up, and tell you before a change that matters takes effect.
